Interview with Jason Schulte of The Nut Gallery Review

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself ,your blog(s)/website(s),and your aspirations and your hobbies!!
My name is Jason Schulte and I have been the owner/operator of The Nut Gallery Review (www.thenutgallery.com) since 2006.  With the website being a hobby that was inspired by my other hobbies of movies and video games it seemed the perfect fit to do a website that reviewed those items.

2. How you first got involved in with blogging/writing, are you an imaginative person?
One day a good friend and I went to a movie that was reviewed as the must see movie of the year by many of the main stream movie critics.  The movie was so bad that we barley stayed through the whole thing which would have been the first time I walked out on a movie.  The only thing that kept us there was that the rest of the audience was also making the movie fun by making comments.  After that experience we decided to create a website with our honest opinions.

3. What do you find most challenging about blogging/writing about your topic?
One of the challenges is being consistent with the time I put into it.  Between doing my job and raising my family it can be tough to commit the time.  Summer always is harder as there are so many outdoor activities to do.

4. Tell me about some of the people you have met while working on your blog?
I have met several actors, writers, and directors while working on the website.  It is always fun to talk with people that share some of the same passions.

5. How would (someone) describe your blogging/writing style?
I would be described as honest.  That was the foundation of what we were trying to create.  Even when reviewing material that friends are involved in I have to stay true to the honest part and give and honest review.

6. What do you do when you are not working on your blog?
When I am not writing for the website I tend to be reading, watching movies, playing video games, raising my family and cooking.

7 .Where do you see yourself blogging/writing wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?
I hope to continue to entertain, inform, and grow.

8. What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging/writing business?
I have networked with other people that are doing similar projects and website.  Instead of looking at them as competitors I would rather work together for both our benefit.

9. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
Hollywood is never short of news and products to talk about.  I set a weekly goal for posts and try to stay close to that.

10. Whats your strategy with your blog in general?
I write it for my own satisfaction and anyone that finds it entertaining is a bonus.

11. Any specific tips you have for newbie bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?
Write because you want to not because you have to.  Having said that it is important to stick with it.

12. What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
I have always put content first.  The rest will work itself out.

13. Whats the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
Honest and truthful information.

14. A lot of people are interested in blogging/writing for the money earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money from blogging/writing? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
I wish them the best, most that set out with that goal end up disappointed.

15. What motivates you most in life?
My family.

16. What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
Telling anyone and everyone that will listen about it.  It has opened more conversations that anything else in my life.

17 What was the most challenging moment in your blog content development process and why?
Overcoming burn out and frustration.  Sometimes it feels that now one is listening or caring but a lot of the people that do read what I have written like it well enough to not need to say anything.

18. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
I like it anytime I get a heads up on some news before anyone else.  This also leads me to one of the worst posts.  I was one of the first writers to get wind of the Paul Walker accident.  I had an inside source that broke the news to me almost an hour before the mainstream media was covering the story.

19. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
I am a big fan of Scott Sigler who has released several of his books via podcast.  He has become a go to person in the industry and really has out done what everyone thought he could.

20. What is the story behind the name of the blog?
We picked the name thenutgallery.com as we liked to give our views from the peanut gallery.  We are also a little nutty sometimes so that also fit in nicely.

21. Your connection with any Blogger Network like Indi blogger or Writeupcafe or any other and the experience?
I have limited experience with blogger networks.  Though the experiences I have had, have all been good.

22. Which genre do you feel gets the raw deal?
I honestly would say sci-fi gets the raw deal.  I think this covers sci-fi bloggers, movies, literature.  I think a lot of times people see sci-fi and assume that it is geeky or nerdy.

23. Which one plug-in would you suggest all bloggers to have?
Anything that helps with fan feedback

24. Five adjectives that describe you.
Conscientious, diligent, honest, loyal, reliable.

25. What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
This was a tough question because I have had lots of books have an impact on my life.  If I had to pick one I would say I Beat the Odds by Michael Oher

26. Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments??
I would not say easily provoked.  The ones that upset me is when people post comments that have not facts to back them.

27. Do you plan to write a book, as every bloggers dream it is?
I have several ideas for books but not sure where I would fit that in.

28. Are you a judgmental person, do you prefer to take sides instead of standing neutral?
Depends on what is going on.  I do like to know both sides before taking a side.

29. Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much into social networking, tell us everything about it?
We do use social media such as facebook and twitter.  Just another way to keep fans closer and involved.

30. What genre attracts you the most and which genre you avoid?
I avoid romance and like just about anything else.

31. Your Views on Contests and increasing plagiarism?
Contests are another nice tool to keep people involved.  I have had several bad experiences with running contests and have stayed away from them for a while.  Plagiarism, now there is a hot topic.  I think things have gotten a little out of hand on both ends.  I think what people consider protected property is getting out of hand in a bad way.  I would like to point to the movie The Butler which was almost blocked because a movie that came out over 40 years ago had that same title.  We are taking all the creative options away by making everything a copywrited property.  Having said that I also would not want someone who has created something to lose the hard work because someone else takes there idea.

32. Words for me and my blogs Desire v/s Destiny and Blogger Interviews and my Website www.MyMagicJobs.com
It needs some more color to the page to break things up a bit.  Maybe a little more organization to the opening page.  What your page is about is half way down the page.

33. On winning the Award/s , Are they Really necessary.
Who does not like to win some awards.  It is always nice to get awards for the hard work that is put into a project.

34. So whats Next in your list?
I am working on creating a mobile version of our website.

35.Words for your readers and why they should follow you?

I do my best to be honest and entertaining.

What to wear in Goa | Guys Guide to Fashion in Goa

http://www.jabong.com/teemper-Green-Casual-Shirts-496986.htmlWhat to wear in Goa .
Whenever we think of goa we think of something very chilled out , relaxed and colorful.

Goa is a cool mix of style, colour and comfort. However, it is also hot and humid so I would suggest you to pack lightweight clothes in natural fibres; linen, silk and cotton. They have the double benefit of being not only comfortable to wear in Goa's climate but also easy to wash.

http://www.jabong.com/being-human-Washed-Blue-Slim-Fit-Shorts-527268.htmlThe Goans are supposed to be a bunch of happy-go-lucky people and their chilled-out attitude is reflected in the clothes they wear. Its Really cool as they say do as Romans do , The guys would not want to change their clothes again and again , so shorts are perfect for them and if they are denim shorts , they are

even better. If you are also colorful you can go for printed colorful Shirts but with a plain Shirt like this , you can spend the whole day without bothering to change or anything.

http://www.jabong.com/Puma-Techno-Ind-Black-Floaters-187817.htmlhttp://www.jabong.com/mtv-Black-Sunglasses-125881.htmlThe sunglasses are an absolute must to wear, so make sure you take them with you.Not only will they protect your eyes from the harsh glare of the sun reflecting off the things, but they’ll also make you look hip and trendy. Buy the one that suits your face and that offers UV protection also.I always chose Aviators for my broad face but you should only take the one you love.

Floaters are a must when we talk about roaming on and off the beach the whole day , these are not only comfertable but also quite trendy. No one in their right mind would wear covered shoes to a beachside destination anyway So get set for your travel to goa ,Pack a bag of light weight clothes , and enjoy your holidays.

To sum it up - Stay Extremely cool, relaxed, colorful and casual.

Interview with Award winning author,Producer and Radio Host Lillian Brummet

Award winning author Lillian Brummet (www.brummet.ca) produces and hosts the Conscious Discussions talk radio show, and manages the Brummet’s Conscious Blog. Although it seems like a lifetime of scribbles and notes have led up to this – Lillian has been professionally involved in the realm of writing since 1999. She began writing poetry as a teenager, which allowed her to express the issues and emotions from a broken home, abusive childhood and being on her own at 13-years old. Through poetry she learned how to see beyond these hurts and discover a world outside of herself, where she learned that her life really did have value and that she had a purpose. Lillian has fond memories of an early childhood in California and Nevada (USA) and grew up in the south-central region of BC, Canada. Her business partner and husband Dave was born and raised in Kelowna (BC) where he met up with Lillian in 1990 and they have been together ever since. Dave and Lillian have collaborated their efforts and have authored 6 books (to date, 2014), with their 7th book (cookbook) coming out in mid-late 2014. In those few stolen moments when she is not in the office she can be found spending time with her husband gardening, indulging in nature, camping and walking the many trails in BC’s (Canada) wilderness. The main focus of everything the Brummets do, whether in their personal life or in business, is to inspire hope in individuals - helping them realize the value of their efforts and encouraging them to become more positive, proactive in life.

Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself, your blog, your aspirations and your hobbies!!
Wow – that is a big question! Let’s see… about me: I’m a married (for 24 years) 44 year-old woman living in the tourist mecca known as the Kootenay region of BC, Canada. I have an ongoing commitment to living my life in such a way as to leave a positive legacy – every day. My spare time is often spent absorbed in a puzzle or a good book, rolling around with the dogs, spending time in nature or playing in the garden. Professionally I am the author and co-author of 6 books, going on 7 books later on this year. As a business partner of the Brummet Media Group (http://brummet.ca), my responsibilities also include managing the Brummet's Conscious Blog (http://www.consciousdiscussions.blogspot.com) and hosting/producing the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/consciousdiscussions).

Q: How you first got involved in with blogging/writing, are you an imaginative person?
The pen has always been a good friend, always there and non-judgmental… so I have always found getting creative with words was a place of comfort, even as a child. When young I used to write short stories about people with heavy issues that were judged by others who didn’t understand – these won special acknowledgements in school. Later I moved to poetry as my comfort zone where I could purge the emotions that consumed me, brought on by a broken home environment and abuse. As a young adult I was encouraged to submit my poetry to various contests and won several, got published in some anthologies and the like. But it wasn’t until my late 20’s that I took the idea of writing more seriously. I had been involved in a 3-car pile up (I was in the middle) and lost the business I had been running successfully but unhappily for 6 years. I took some career and personality tests, and a career course at the college – and writing kept popping up. It was then that I started thinking of it more seriously, but after my husband signed up for a course about the business side of writing I began taking the assignments along with him as if I was a fellow student. That taught me the basics of how to query, how to market, how to keep records of things, and so on. My first writing assignment from a publication ended up becoming a series of articles that led to a syndicated column – which was published for many years before evolving into the first edition of our first book Trash Talk – It’s Easy To Be Green (now in a 3rd edition).

Q: What do you find most challenging about blogging/writing about your topic?
Marketing or promoting publications and articles is the most time consuming aspect of being a writer. I’ve come to a level of organization that the other aspects of being a professional writer run fairly smoothly and while I’m comfortable doing the marketing end of things, I do find it terribly daunting and time consuming. I’d prefer just to write… and not bother with details, time delays, publication formatting, etc. The creation process in writing is almost like play time or recreation for me. The other stuff is where the real work comes in. Luckily I have a partner (Dave, my husband) to take on many of the technical and graphic aspects of the business, however I do most of the marketing. I actually really enjoy doing interviews on blogs and radio shows, offering filler and promotional content, etc. The time it takes is where I have difficulty… it just sucks up the time like a vacuum on steroids!

Q: Tell me about some of the people you have met while working on your blog?
I meet some of the most wonderful people through my blog and also through my radio show. I learn a lot from the publishers, publicists, agents and marketing PR specialists who connect with me either for networking purposes or for their clients. The guests that come on my radio show offer so much information, such inspiring stories – it is like an online university that focuses on inspiring and empowering others. I’ve created such strong relationships that I still network and connect with people I’d met 10 years ago.

Q: How would (someone) describe your blogging/writing style?
Informative, organized, inspirational, empowering, motivational… and honest. I’ve often been told that I write in such a way that it makes readers feel like we are discussing the topic over a cup of coffee. Some people say that I write just like I talk; however I think I write better than I talk. (She smiles).

Q: What do you do when you are not working on your blog?
There is a lot of behind the scenes activities involved in my office – from bookkeeping, record keeping, filing receipts, etc. to answering emails, phone calls, doing follow-ups, promoting and networking. Those stolen moments out of the office are balanced with maintaining the home life (cooking and menu planning, cleaning, lawn mowing, pet grooming, gardening, etc.) and spending time in nature or with the fur-kids (2 dogs and a cat). I adore strolling along mountain trails and musing lazily beside rivers, creeks or lakes. Dave and I always pack a bag with us and take the time to clean up litter when walking the dogs or spending time in nature – this one act is very important to me, it makes me feel like I am making a difference and giving back to nature.

Q: Where do you see yourself blogging/writing wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?
Well, Dave and I just released another book of poetry: Rhythm & Rhyme, which is out in e-book format and will be in print format in a few weeks. Once the various distributors have the book listed in their systems, we’ll have to update our website (again) and start another vein of marketing endeavors. In the meantime I am working on the next manuscript – one that has been in the making for about 15 years actually. This cookbook (possible title: Garden of Flavor) is designed with a purpose – we want to encourage people to purchase locally grown, seasonal foods and to educate them about nutrition, while encouraging gardening and inspiring change in the food production system to a more sustainable, environmentally conscious one. I made the difficult decision to take a hiatus from the radio show in order to catch up on taxes, spring-cleaning and these manuscripts as well… preventing a total mental breakdown (she laughs). When the dust settles from these projects I plan on returning to the radio show and to get back to another manuscript (topic: biodynamic gardening), which is in rough draft format at the moment. I expect these new projects, and maintaining current ones, will likely eat up the next few years.

Q: What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging/writing business?
I network through my blog, my radio show, through forums and social networking sites. When I say, “network” - I really mean that I create strong relationships, ones that I return to again and again. I take the time to think about what I can do for them, how I can support them, what I can offer them… if I hear of a resource, opportunity or individual that I feel could help them, I’ll pass that on to them. It is not just about making connections for today, but for the life of my career.

Q: How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
Ah, yes. Creating blog content and keeping organized - knowing what is going to be published for the near future is a constant task. I often receive submissions in the form of articles, announcements, resources, or queries for interviews – these all make for wonderful content. I use my own previously published articles, once they are at least 6 months old or older – to avoid conflict with publications that used them. I use excerpts from my books as well. Visiting free filler content sites like EzineArticles.com, ArticleDashboard.com, etc. is useful as well. Even though my blog has new content published every day, I have more content then I can use but I keep it on file and work my way through it as space allows. If I read something or find a resource I just make a note of it for the future.  I try to balance the content so that I’m not promoting my work too much, but I do put out media event announcements and plug our books only once or twice a month.  I also do product reviews, but limit that to no more than once a week.

Q: What is your strategy with your blog in general?
The Brummet’s Conscious Blog is yet another way for us to leave a positive legacy, support others and promote our own work. The main theme of the blog is to offer tips, interviews and resources to inspire hope in individuals; helping them realize the value of their efforts, encouraging them to become more positive, proactive in life

Q: Any specific tips you have for newbie bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?
Yes – how much time do you have? (She laughs) Actually the best tip I have is to simply decide, as your last question referred to, the strategy behind your blog. Define your reader – how old they are, what they are interested in, why they would want to visit your blog, what you can offer them, how you can serve them best… that kind of thing. You’ll want to determine how much time you can allot to your blog and stick with that – don’t commit to publishing twice a day and then find out it is too much, figure out what works with your schedule and remember that part of the time managing a blog is responding to comments, marketing posts, and networking. And finally – determine why you are writing the blog, knowing the purpose of the blog will help you determine what you are going to do; if your purpose is to drive traffic to your website your strategy will be different than selling a product, or creating new contacts.

Q: What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
Content – you can manipulate SEO and obtain traffic or attract readers once you have figured out the content. Your content is like a resume – it represents you and your business and your future image as well.

Q: What’s the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
Respect – respect the fact that of all the things they can do online, they’ve decided to spend some time with you. So make them feel welcome and give them reasons to keep coming back. Let them know they are appreciated and encourage them to share posts that they’ve enjoyed.

Q: A lot of people are interested in blogging/writing for the money earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money from blogging/writing? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
You have to really work at the craft of writing, but then you have to have a strong networking system with your contacts and marketing system in place AND you have to have a strong social networking system. With these three legs you become more balanced and are more likely to attract income streams. You need to show your contacts these legs and invite them to become part of the systems you have in place. Know your numbers (analytics, klout score, etc.) and be ready with those stats when advertisers come knocking. Have advertising space allotted and priced out at different levels for differing budgets. Market, promote and market some more… and don’t be afraid to try a variety of revenue streams.

Q: What motivates you most in life?
I need to feel that I am making a difference, that I am leaving a positive legacy, that my life or my words bring insight and meaning to others – human or other life forms. It is a driving force behind everything I do.

Q: What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
I don’t let an opportunity pass by – if there is a chance to obtain more traffic our way I’m definitely willing to try it out. I’m open to trying new things, but find also that repeated exposure in previous venues reminds their audiences to check us out.

Q: What was the most challenging moment in your blog content development process and why?
Time management is always a brutal balance, choosing priorities of the day and setting aside others that you’d love to do but can’t due to schedule constraints. One person can’t do everything, so it is important to make a note of things you want to follow up on later and just do what you can today, what is most important today first – worry about the other stuff later.

Q: Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
I’m not sure that I have a favorite or least favorite post – I’m very careful about what I put out there and wouldn’t publish something I couldn’t get 100% behind. It is the same with my books, while each book has a special interest or focus I believe strongly in each of the messages and cannot pick a favorite – each of them has a unique but equally special piece of my heart.

Q: Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Bloggers that are very technologically savvy are definitely enviable. I do what I can to maintain the blog and keep it fresh, but some people really do amazing things because they know more about the technological side of this craft. This is something I aspire to; to rise up to the challenge of learning what they know and do so well.
Q: What is the story behind the name of the blog?
Brummet’s Conscious Blog – partially named to connect it to the radio show, Conscious Discussions Radio show, and partially named to connect to us and our website. The “conscious “part comes from the concept that we are aware that we have an impact with every moment of every day, but becoming conscious about momentary impacts and the proactive participation to make each moment count as a chance to make the world a better place.

Q: Your connection with any Blogger Network like Indi blogger or Writeupcafe or any other and the experience?
Yes I am on a few blog-specific networks including PureBlogger and BloggerLinkUp, and radio host newsletters and networks. I’m also on more than a dozen social networking sites from Wiser to YourBookLaunch, Klout, SkillPages to Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, FriendFeed, MySpace, Pinterest, RedRoom, ReverbNation, SelfGrowth, Shelfari, Flicker, FourSquare… etc.

Q: Five adjectives that describe you.
Organized, conscious, compassionate, sensitive, and tenacious.

Q: What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
Oh gosh – how can I pick just one? Of non-fiction these come to mind immediately: Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success, Second Innocence by John Izzo, Dale Carnegie’s Win Friends Influence People and Great Peace Makers by Ken Beller and Heather Chase.

Q: Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments??
I’d consider myself a sensitive – easily absorbing other people’s energy. It is the main reason why I don’t watch or read news programs/papers and protect my mind by filling it with positive information about issues our world faces as opposed to the doom, gloom, destruction, conspiracy or violence end of things. If I didn’t protect myself from that energy I’d quickly feel overwhelmed and get stuck in apathy like a deer in the headlights, feeling useless, helpless, and unable to change things… but that is not the truth. The truth is that each person can create positive change and collectively we have made great strides in making the world a better place. I’m conscious about reading and screening comments on the blog or radio show websites and respond to most of them even if they are on the negative side. Sometimes a person might have a bad day and they took something they heard or read wrong, or perhaps they felt I should have covered another aspect of the issue… so I try to respond diplomatically and explain where I was coming from, always thanking them for their comment.

Q: Are you a judgmental person, do you prefer to take sides instead of standing neutral?
I think we all struggle with judging, we often expect others and especially ourselves to somehow reach up to our highest expectations and sadly our expectations are not usually realistic. As writers we are our own worst critics and it is hard to be vulnerable enough to allow the work to be released and critiqued by others. Sometimes though it is well received and that gives us hope for the future, of what we may become capable of.

Q: Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much into social networking, tell us everything about it?
Yes, I network with bloggers, radio hosts and writers regularly. I’m also, as I mentioned earlier, on several social networking sites. I have strong networking relationships with those involved in the industries I just mentioned, people behind the scenes like publicity specialists and agents, publishers and editors, etc.

Q: What genre attracts you the most and which genre you avoid?
As a writer, I enjoy poetry and non-fiction the most; as a reader I tend to lean more toward non-fiction adventure, fantasy, intrigue and mystery. But I’ll read almost anything really, I do love to learn so I read a lot of non-fiction – and as a writer I do like to dabble in short story writing. So I guess the answer is: a bit of everything except politics, romance, erotica, hate and racism genres.

Q: Your views on contests and winning awards?
Initially, upon entering the world of writing I felt that contests was a way for me to test the waters – to dip my toe into the river so to speak. They helped me determine what readers liked, deadline and lead-time and also face critics who may or may not get what I was divulging. When you win a few contests and you get a few kind words it gives one the courage to branch out further. Now though I don’t enter contests, I don’t do these because I already have built some name recognition and have some level of confidence in my writing – I’d rather focus on marketing, networking and writing. Winning awards can be very helpful in gaining expert status – when I received awards from the premier of BC, the Recycling Council of BC, Brilliant Earth and other organizations, all of a sudden I got more attention from the media and from readers because I appeared or had the image now of being an expert in zero waste initiatives. So it does make a difference, but does it really inspire people to buy your work more so than they would have before? I’m not sure.

Interview with Mani Goel Author, Spiritual Healer and Filmmaker

www.MyMagicJobs.com
Mani Goel
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself, your blog(s)/website(s),and your aspirations and your hobbies!!
Well, my name is Mani Goel. I am an author, spiritual healer & teacher, angel medium, artist & filmmaker. My first book is of  spiritual genre and is entitled- Angels’ Wisdom For Your Life.  The book has been released in Hong Kong internationally, and is available through all major online portals like Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. It was released in India in New Delhi over Christmas 2013 and is available on flipkart. I am primarily based in Hong Kong at the moment, and also travel widely to deliver transformational, inspirational & spiritual healing workshops. My hobbies include – scuba diving, traveling, dancing, singing, and photography.

2. How you first got involved in with blogging/writing, are you an imaginative person?
I have written since an early age and have contributed to several newspapers & magazines worldwide of various genres. This includes avant-garde cultural, travel & lifestyle, business, aviation political publications, spiritual & inspirational publications.  Well, yes! All my current work is creative and spiritual. With God’ blessings, I have made a rather rapid transition from my old life as a Flight Purser with Cathay Pacific Airways to my new life. So you can call me highly imaginative.

3. What do you find most challenging about blogging/writing about your topic?
I love writing about what I write about these days- Inspirational articles about Angels, Higher self, Divine Wisdom & spirituality and how we can enhance our personal well-being by connecting to the higher source energy & connecting to our own higher selves and spiritual guides.  The challenge this involves is the discipline that is required to be able to write such work. I also teach, conduct lot of seminars, personal mentoring sessions, so sometimes I do not have as much time as I would like to solely devote to writing.

4. Tell me about some of the people you have met while working on your blog?
While working on my book and even during my work as a spiritual healer & artist, I have met lot of creative, spiritually evolved & wonderful people. I have had the privilege to meet some enlightened spiritual teachers. And even people who have chosen to leave very comfortable life styles and careers to fulfill their higher calling in the world. A lot of people I come across are highly successful in their respective fields such as lawyers, bankers, entertainment professionals, designers, entrepreneurs and have this growing urge to now transcend the material existence and connect to the spiritual. A lot of people who I teach and mentor are already quite spiritually evolved. I also mentor a lot of children these days and love it. I recently met with a wonderful large group of students during a talk at a school in India and was amazed by their interest in my book and spirituality. They wanted to know more and more about my work. I love talking to people, and learning of their stories, their inspirations and dreams.

5. How would (someone) describe your blogging/writing style?
Natural and conversational. I have been told that my work is easy to read and I am able to deliver deep messages & insights in a simple and easy to understand manner. I take it as a complement.

6. What do you do when you are not working on your blog?
I am either writing, or teaching, doing distance healings for people, meditating, seeing clients for personal sessions, painting or filming (my second film- a documentary). When I am not doing any of the above, I am spending time with my parents, and family, traveling, cooking, running, hiking, cycling, swimming, watching movies, dancing or spending time in nature.

7 . Where do you see yourself blogging/writing wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?
Hopefully in six months time, I would have Part 2 of my book- Angels’ Wisdom For Your Life- released and finished writing & editing Part 3. This would complete Angels’ Wisdom Trilogy. In 5 years down the line, I hope I have at least five (or more) books published & released internationally and be bestsellers. Amen.

Mani Goel
8. What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging/writing business?
These days, I have little time for networking. Holding seminars, talks, and workshops is one way for me to reach more people and this is how people know me as well. I also use social media to connect with friends from various parts of the world. I have my official page on Facebook and it has been very useful. I am trying to get back on twitter, and also want to get more active on my blog- www.lovenlighten.com.
So you could say, most of my networking is online and through personal contacts and word of mouth publicity.

9. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
I have no shortage of topics to write about. Ideas  & thoughts are always percolating down and I find hard to keep up. I am currently working on my fifth book, and have so far released only one. Plus, I am getting more active writing articles for various publications.

10. What’s your strategy with your blog in general?
I don’t have any strategy as such. I just write from my heart and in as truthful manner as possible.

11. Any specific tips you have for newbie bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?
For all aspiring authors, I would say –keep writing. Writing is but a small part of your journey, as one realizes when one has a ready product or a book that has to be brought into public or in the market place. However, it is still the most crucial aspect. So be disciplined about it and do not get discouraged by initial rejections. These days, it is a lot easier for a writer or an author to express him or herself, as there are several new and alternative platforms available alongside traditional publishing platforms. Plus, self-publishing and digital publishing has really altered the power of balance. So if you haven’t yet been able to publish a book through traditional route, you can start blogging or share your book in separate chapters on your blog or some other specialized online platform that caters to your genre.  E-books are doing great too. And are a wonderful way to share your work and establish credibility especially if you are in an inspiration and spiritual genre.

12. What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
If I have to talk about my blog or even my book, it has to be Content first & foremost. Content is the Master. Then come Readers, SEO & Traffic in that order.

13. What is the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
Honesty, Truthfulness, Objectivity, Generosity, Kindness.

14. A lot of people are interested in blogging/writing for the money earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money from blogging/writing? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
As far as writing or even blogging is concerned. Yes! It can be turned into a career that supports your living. However, it takes time, lot of hard work and patience. I think it is a good idea to initially have a job to support you and your aspirations as an author. As you begin to make enough money, you can take it up full-time. Though, I have to admit, I went the other way. I wrote my first book and my other works after quitting my very comfortable and glamorous job. My writing however, is connected to my work as a spiritual healer & teacher.

15. What motivates you most in life?
Being able to share this information, wisdom and knowledge with as many people as possible. Make a difference and create a positive impact in people’s lives. To be able to help people lead a more fulfilling, happier, peaceful, transformed life in alignment with their highest purpose and creating a better world, one book at a time, is what motivates me.

16. What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
My writing is tied up with my spiritual healing and transformational work. It is one part of a wider body of work I undertake through my company- Mani Healing. So I teach a lot, participate in or create inspirational events and conduct personal mentoring sessions. As opposed to focusing too much on direct marketing of my book, so far I have allowed all my work to do the talking. It is all about how people view you, your integrity and the relationship you build with your readers and your audience. I also contribute write-up to online and print publications. It helps with the visibility and creates brand awareness. There are a lot more developments taking place behind the scenes that I can’t talk about write now.

17 What was the most challenging moment in your blog content development process and why?
My book is of spiritual genre. I have received these spiritual messages from higher and ascended realms. I did not just write this book based on my existing knowledge, these spiritual messages came to me. So to be in that state of ascension and connection while going through your daily life & mundane activities is not always easy. While writing my book, I had altered my diet to mostly juices and liquids (all vegetarian), my phone used to be switched off, I was spending three to four hours in nature everyday, as when you are in nature; you are able to deepen your spiritual connections. Before commencing my writing every day, I would meditate. I had cut down most of my social engagements and avoided crowds (I still do). Sometimes, while I was writing, the energy would be too strong and I would get head aches and needed to sleep for hours on end. So I would say, the discipline that went into writing my first book was a big challenge at the time. Later I got used to it as a way of life.

18. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
I can’t think of any post of mine that I don’t like. I can’t really comment on what other people write.

19. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
I like everything to do with spirituality and inspirations. So the blogs or website I visit most are of this genre as well. Of course I love my blog- www.lovenlighten.com and
my book blog- www.angelswisdomforyourlife.com . These are works in progress.
As for authors, some of my favorite authors are - Paramhamsa Yogananda, Paulo Coelho, Neale Donald Walsch, Kahlil Gibran, Rabindra Nath Tagore, William Shakespeare, Edgar Cayce, Doreen Virtue, Diana Cooper, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Ruskin Bond, Munshi Premchand, Ayn Rand, J.K. Rowling, John Keats, Mirza Ghalib, Rumi, Carl Jung and several other ancient and accomplished authors who have given us some of the greatest books and words of wisdom. I also admire James Redfield, author of Celestine Prophecy & Tenth Insight and Robin Sharma for what they achieved with their first books that had both been initially self-published. Lord Valmiki for giving us Ramayana. Mahayogi Patanjali for giving us YogaSutras, the great masters and wise ones who wrote Vedic scriptures and all those great beings who have written spiritual texts belonging to various faiths in different parts of the world. All these spiritual works have sprung from higher dimensions.

20. What is the story behind the name of the blog?
My blog is called- www.lovenlighten.com. This name came to me when I was thinking of a name that could be an apt description of what my blog stands for. So my blog is all about gentle, peaceful, loving, enlightening and uplifting messages from Angelic Realm and spiritual & inspirational writings that help people connect with their own divine center and inner light.

As for my book- it is a compilation of wisdom messages I received or channeled from Angelic and Ascended Realms. It is a trilogy. Part 1 has been published internationally and released in Hong Kong and in India. The first part contains messages I received about topics of general interest such as- marriage, love, money, anger, angels, meaning of life, etc- explaining them in a practical manner from a higher and spiritual perspective. Hence the name- Angels’ Wisdom For Your Life, Part 1 (Part 2 & 3 will be coming out soon)

21. Your connection with any Blogger Network like Indi blogger or Writeupcafe or any other and the experience?
Not really, I am rather new to the blogging universe.

22. Which genre do you feel gets the raw deal?
Hmmm, I think comedy and poetry in the print publishing world. I am not sure about blogging. I have yet to come across a well-developed angelic, spiritual & inspirational blog though. I am hoping to change it with my blog- www.lovenlighten.com

23. Which one plug-in would you suggest all bloggers to have?
Social Media Floating Bar and SEO plug-in are what I would suggest to all bloggers.

24. Five adjectives that describe you.
Beautiful, Creative, Angelic, Sensitive, Wise,

25. What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
It is difficult for me to suggest a single name. All the books that I have read have brought me where I am and impacted me in a profound manner at the time I read them. You then evolve to be touched by next great book. But if I have to name one then it would be Bhagwad Gita amongst spiritual texts and Fountain Head as non-spiritual though philosophical text. I read both around the same time too.
26. Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments??
No!

27. Do you plan to write a book, as every bloggers dream it is?
Angels’ Wisdom For Your Life, Part 1, get your copy on flipkart. Out in book stores, India wide- June 2014. Also available currently at the New Delhi World Book Fair- Hall No. 14, Stall No. 30.

28. Are you a judgmental person; do you prefer to take sides instead of standing neutral?
I am not judgmental. I won’t be doing what I am doing, if I was easily provoked or judgmental. I am discerning though. Taking sides? It really depends on the context.

29. Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much into social networking, tell us everything about it?

Yes! I am planning to collaborate with some bloggers. I am quite active on Facebook. Not yet on twitter but will be getting there soon. Reason I abandoned twitter is because it requires constant attention that I was not able to dispense at the time. But now as an author, I would like to engage with a larger audience, hence I am going to start tweeting again soon.

30. What genre attracts you the most and which genre you avoid?
Spiritual, Inspirational, Non-Fiction attract me most, fables, short stories do too. I avoid Crime and anything to do with violence and excessive human behavior.

31. Your Views on Contests and increasing plagiarism?
Well, it has always been there. One can’t really avoid it. You can just put your protective measures up.

32. Words for me and my blogs Desire v/s Destiny and Blogger Interviews and my Website www.MyMagicJobs.com
I think you are doing well and are very sweet, enterprising, understanding and accommodating.

33. On winning the Award/s, Are they really necessary.
I think in all industries, awards are a good way to garner some kind of hype, recognition, and visibility, perhaps even credibility. But not having received one does not mean you don’t have the above. Life goes on and most successful people I know, don’t even care about awards.

34. So what’s Next in your list?
Bringing my Inspirational & Transformational Workshops to India. Travel more and teach more. Edit Part 2 of Angels’ Wisdom, finish writing Part 3 and also start working on my next book. Streamline and update my blog. Write, write and write. Also finish my second film-a documentary.

35.Words for your readers and why they should follow you?
To get re-connected with your heart, soul and your true self for a peaceful, more fulfilling life. Heal your body, mind and spirit of any past trauma and move forward in your lives with greater clarity, confidence and determination to have a great & positive impact on this world.
For daily dose of inspiration, to discover your higher self, and attain spiritual growth and greater understanding about yourself. I am also here to remind you, that you have infinite potential waiting to be tapped within you.

On Spiritual Healing

How did you get into spiritual healing?
I first started doing healings during my meditations. At the time, I had not received any training or attended any healing related courses, but it felt right. I was being transported to a different state during meditations, I would do healings and then finish my meditations knowing fully well what I was doing but I did not know how to describe it. I wasn’t able to explain it to anyone else. Soon after this experience, I began to run into healers and teachers on the streets, in restaurants, socially. So I decided to attend a few courses to understand what I was doing, to be able to get some technical knowledge and give a name to it. At this time, I was already on a spiritual path and was meditating everyday for hours and hours. So you can say, I became cognizant of my gift of healing as a result of my spiritual awakening, and this gift then enabled me to grow further spiritually and undergo a speedy spiritual evolution.

What motivated you to do spiritual healing?
It is a gift that can benefit and serve the world. It allows me to help people, their families, and loved ones, even their pets. It can transform, heal and save lives, bring joy and happiness. It brings more spiritual energy and light on this planet and helps to create a better, more peaceful world. And so I continue to do this. Being a spiritual healer is an intrinsic part of my identity. It is who I am.
What's the best experience during spiritual healing?
The best experience is when you actually witness the transformation of your client or the people you are taking care of. I also work as a personal mentor and do angel & spiritual readings, and life coaching sessions where I provide guidance to people about their lives, career, relationships, help them with the correct path to choose, discover their true selves and it is extremely fulfilling for me to see people light up when they leave Mani Healing office after just one session or the progress they make on an ongoing basis. Besides, I have taken care of people with some very serious ailments like cancer, heart diseases and several other serious emotional and physical issues including some issues that are connected to past lives.  And then you see these people getting healed, living happier or lives being saved. Miracles take place. Words can’t describe what one feels at that moment. I just thank God and feel blessed that God chose me to do this work and to teach it as well. I am not the doer, simply the connection between heaven and you, simply an Angel Whisperer connecting you to your own light and divine state of being.
I am now preparing to conduct workshops to train more healers and next level of teachers.
For more details you can visit my website: www.mani-healing.com
What difficulties you had to face during the start up?
I had never planned to set a formal healing practice or to set up a spiritual enterprise so to speak. But I was called out to do so after being a closet healer and counselor for few years. And I kind of put my other creative work and my filmmaking career on hold to do this, and to write my book.
To be honest when my website was first launched, I had no clue about marketing or about how to run a holistic and spiritual wellness enterprise. But then I got involved with some other wellness centers in Hong Kong as a guest practitioner and teacher and learnt a lot. I also learnt that it was alright for a spiritual healer (like myself) to charge a fees, as it is basically an energy exchange and this is also a form of service that we provide like any other professional service provider. Then came the marketing aspect and getting the word out there about what you do. I think, I haven’t yet done enough and there is so much more to do. But all my learning has been on the job. So you can say I have been on a very steep learning curve for quite some time. Now with all the technology at our fingertips, there are lot of platforms available for entrepreneurs to create awareness about their work and products but then, there is an equal amount of work to be done as well. As a spiritual healer and teacher, my main focus is people who come to see me, and my students.
How did you landed up in hkg?
I first went to Hkg to start working as a flight attendant with Cathay Pacific Airways.
Your India connection

I have family in India, my parents divide their time between India and Hong Kong and I spend at least 2 months every year in India. Besides, now with my first book getting released in India, I’ll be spending more and more time here.
