Prelude : Rahul Miglani : It has been a pleasure to
interview one of the most prolific bloggers privy trifles , Its been my second
Interview with privy trifles and it has been worth the effort. So guys here you
go.
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself? Your blog, and
your aspirations and your hobbies!!
I blog under the pen name Me, and have two blogs.
Memoirs of Me – privytrifles.blogspot.in
Reviews and Musings – wingstomywords.blogspot.in
The first blog is purely a mish mash of fiction, nonfiction
and poetry while the other one is all about book reviews, photography and other
stuff. I love writing for that is an integral part of me I believe, giving
voice to my inner most thoughts. My online identity is Me – coz my blogs are
the only place on earth where I can just be myself.
I aspire to bring a smile on someone’s face , touch heart
and make a difference in their life through my words.
Apart from writing I enjoy reading, dancing, painting, cooking
and listening to music.
Rahul Miglani : how cleverly the mention of Real name is
avoided (again)
2. How you first got involved in with blogging, are you an
imaginative person?
Blogging happened just by chance to me to be honest it was
never planned at all. And yes I am a very imaginative person. After blogging
for 2 years now that imagination has just multiplied like anything.
3. What do you find most challenging about blogging about
your topic?
I blog mostly about relationships, love and life- the most
challenging thing in them is that every person is right in his/her own perspective and there is no wrong
here. So you need to be very careful the way you present your thoughts as
emotions are at stake here. You don’t want to hurt someone!
4. Tell me about some of the people you have met while
working on your blog?
Oh there are loads of them…. Rachit, Ashna, Arti, Sridevi,
Gayatri, Kalpana, SG, Srishti, Aaekay, Rejo John and ofcourse you J
Rahul Miglani : At-least I am being mentioned !! I love it!!
5. How would (someone) describe your blogging style?
Though I would like to reply to this with ask “someone” but
I will reply to his coz I have been told this many times – it is straight from
the heart and hence touches them!
6. What do you do when you are not working on your blog?
Thinking about what to write next!!
7 .Where do you see yourself blogging wise in the next 6
months, and 5 years down the road?
6 months down the line I see myself being more regular in
blogging of course with a steep improvement in the content.
5 years down the line I see myself as a blogger with whom
people connect good times – good stories – good place to be when you have
nothing to do J
8. What networking do you do that you feel helps your
blogging business?
I have just tried Facebook till now apart from being a
member at Blog Adda and Indiblogger. Have just joined Twitter. I think Facebook
in itself has emerged as a very strong place for networking recently.
9. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your
blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and
they only have one blog.
I carry with myself a notebook and a camera 24*7. Its an
inseparable part of me, coz I never when I will get something which can be
written about or should be captured in my camera.
Writing block I believe is too hyped compared to the
reality. Sometimes you need to take a break and its perfectly fine. You cannot
push yourself beyond your limits. And writers block is just your minds way of
saying I am tired, I need some break.
10. Whats your strategy with your blog in general?
There is no strategy at all for you cannot do something you
love with your mind, right?
11. Any specific tips you have for newbee bloggers who want
to make it in the blogosphere?
Firstly write because you want to, not because someone will
read you. Secondly try to be a part of Blog Adda and Indi blogger to meet some
likeminded people, hang out in FB groups, talk, chat, discuss and comment… rest
all will fall in place!
12. What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic?
Readers?
Content ofcourse for it will attract good readers who in
turn with get traffic !
13. Whats the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
A wonderful read which a he/she carries along with himself
long after he/she has finished reading it.
14. A lot of people are interested in blogging for the money
earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money
from blogging? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be
made?
I am not the right person to comment on this coz I have
never tried this aspect of blogging at all.
15. What motivates you most in life?
LIFE is my biggest motivator. I observe it very closely, in
its various forms that I see around me and it amazes me everytime with
something exemplarily making me wonder in awe.
16. What has been your strategy for creating visibility to
yourself and your blog?
Nothing much in particular – I am a part of Blog Adda and
Indiblogger apart from being on FB in blogger groups.
17 What was the most challenging moment in your blog content
development process and why?
Adding gadgets. I still fumble with that coz technically I
am not that sound.
18. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours
and why?
Well there are many specially in the later categories and
its difficult to choose one but will still try for I am my own critic and the
worst possible one for that matter.
Worst -http://privytrifles.blogspot.in/2011/05/lazy-lamhe.html
(Rahul Miglani : There is only one person so far who have
mentioned the worst blog !! Respect !!)
To add to this list I can just say that out of some 350+
posts that I have written till now on my blog, my favorites are barely some 20.
So from that you can imagine the rest!
19. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Rachit – for he writes beautifully!
Arti Honrao – amazing story writing
Momina – Believe me when I say she conjures magic with
words.
The list is long but as of now I can think of these three
the first.
20. What is the story behind the name of the blog.
Memoirs of Me / Privy
Trifles – Me because this is the only place where I am myself. Privy
Trifles was the name of my diary as a teenager and has today metamorphed into
my online identity, something I am extremely proud of. Privy means private and
Trifles means trifle / small things in life which are of no importance. My blog
is about such things like love, laughter, friends, special someone, memories
etc.
Reviews and Musings /
Wings to my words- Both my blogs are like my two faces. While the one above
is all about the good things of life this one has the bad things of life,
things which upset me like a social cause or something apart from the book
reviews, photography and poetries that I share here. Hence the name Reviews and
Musings. Wings to my words, coz here I just let my thoughts fly, high.
21. your connection with Indiblogger and the experience ?
Indibloger has been a
wonderful place to learn and make new friends. The whole experience has been
out of the world.
22.Which genre do you feel gets the raw deal?
Tech,
23.Which one plugin would you suggest all bloggers to have?
Subscribe by email.
24.Five adjectives that describe you.
**scratching my brains**
Tried hard.. but could not think of any – well do you have
some to say?
25.What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
Aleph by Paulo Coelho and believe me it’s a masterpiece.
Every human being should read that one to know life better.
26.Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments
??
Well no. I find myself very lucky to have one such wonderful
person who is perhaps the worst critic I can ever have as he dissects my whole
post from spacing to full stops. But then that helps me give my best each time
for I want him to say Superb!
I enjoy brickbats and compliments for that’s how it is
supposed to be taken. There is always a scope for improvement for everyone and
if you are getting people who let you know where you can then it means they
know you could do better than this and are in a way helping you to perfect your
art.
27.Do you plan to write a book , as every bloggers dream it
is ?
I would be lying if I say NO to this one, so yes I also do.
Though not now, maybe soon.
28.Are you a judgmental person , Do you prefer to take sides
instead of standing neutral ?
Nope. I have been told that I am a very gullible person who
is neutral in all the situations and if has to decide then its more emotional
than logical.
29. Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much
into social networking, tell us everything about it ?
As I said before I am only on facebook. Just 2 days back
have joined twitter so I am still exploring it. But yes, facebook has opened
the doors to a lot of opportunities for me in terms of networking. Groups,
friends, pages… oh it’s a different world altogether there.
30.What genre attracts you the most and which genre you
avoid ?
Romance fiction for I am die hard romantic and I avoid
writing tech stuff, horror or upto some extent comedy too.
31.Your Views on Contests and increasing plagiarism ?
To be honest contests is something I usually avoid for I
cannot do forced writing. I write because I love doing that and I write what
comes to my heart.
Plagiarism is a very shameful part of this beautiful world
of blogging and it appalls me to see how someone can do that even in the first
place. I mean do those people really get a good sleep at night? Does not their
conscience pinch them?
32.Words for me and my blog .?
I truly enjoy reading your blog solely for the variety you
keep bringing in. I love the way you experiment with your writing and of course
I truly admire your attempts to being together all the bloggers.
