Book Review of Abhimanyu Bana Gulzar by Ankit Rawat

'Abhimanyu bana Gulzar', a collection of Hindi poems, is first book written by Ankit Rawat. Ankit narrates the various colors of his journey through the quintessence of poetry; these colors are sometimes stories, sometimes emotions of heart, sometimes half baked thoughts, somewhere the passages of memory and somewhere the depictions of country and society.

As a friend when I received my free copy from Ankit I was exited to read it and decided to finish it overnight. The book is easy going , easy to read and easy to absorb. The book contains thoughts roped into few sentences which will touch your heart. The book is about the thought process of human minds and how it sees the different scenarios if life by Ankit.

The book is short lengthen ,can be read in couple of hours and is light on the mind as well , if you enjoy reading thoughts on how you see life and situations you will certainly enjoy this book , This book is not a poetry book but actually when you will read the sentences you will feel the poetry behind it ,There are some half baked thoughts which you will be able to bake and may be take for future references in your life. The book takes on situations in real life scenarios and how one's mind speak of it.This book is must read for Hindi thought readers.

Interview with the Francis Powell Author of "Flight of Destiny"

Can you tell us a little about yourself ,your blog(s)/website(s),and your aspirations and your hobbies!!
I was born in a “dormitory town” called Reading, not famous for much, apart from a huge Rock festival, and for the fact that Oscar Wilde was sent to prison there and wrote “The Ballad of Reading Gaol”. My family then moved to a farm in the country, in Sussex, not too far from London. I was sent aged eight, to a boarding school, so I would spend long periods away from my family.  Imagine having regular prison sentences, imposed upon you, as a child. At some of the schools I attended, there were psychotic teachers and cruel nasty children.  I used to count the days when I could be reunited with my family.  I became a recluse in the art room and painting was my salvation. I had a teacher who encouraged me to paint and introduced me to various artists, including Kandinsky. I went from austere harsh boarding schools to Art College, a very different environment.

How you first got involved in with blogging/writing, are you an imaginative person?
I moved to a remote village in Austria. It was not far from Vienna, but a very oppressive and strange environment. I thought I should try writing a book. I launched into it…nothing came of it. I do many creative activities, painting as well as writing music. Writing lay dormant, put to one side. Then later, living in Paris at this point in time, via an advert, I made contact with a man called Alan Clark, who had a literary magazine called “Rat Mort” (dead rat).  I submitted four short stories for this magazine, encouraged by Alan, I began to write more and more short stories, and developed a style…I guess if I compare these stories to earlier efforts at writing…there has been a huge development…I am sure my early attempts were imaginative but raw.  I have always been a creative and imaginative person. I  went to Art College, but I have always done different creative things, like writing music, making videos…

What do you find most challenging about blogging/writing about your topic?
I think with writing, especially as I write short stories, it is important have really powerful first sentences, as well as finishing strongly.

Tell me about some of the people you have met while working on your blog?
Since I have been promoting my book (Flight of Destiny) I have met some fellow writers.

How would (someone) describe your blogging/writing style?
I have been compared to Edgar Alan Poe.  I am very much influenced by  Roald Dahl’s short stories and I try always to put an unexpected twist, at the end of each story.

What do you do when you are not working on your blog?
I am a teacher, I teach different students,  some are architecture students. I teach both British and American culture.

Where do you see yourself blogging/writing wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?
My aim is to have follow up books published.

What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging/writing business?
I do Goodreads, facebook, Twitter, as well as other social networking sites.  I have posted videos on youtube,  my page is called Flight of Destiny.

How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
I think about things from different angles. I do an author to author interview exchange.

Whats your strategy with your blog in general?
I guess I want  it to be linked to as many websites as possible. To see “Flight of Destiny a book of 22 short stories by Francis H Powell” in as many places as possible.
Any specific tips you have for newbie bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?
To look for likeminded people so you can grow together.

What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
I suppose a mix of all three.

Whats the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
Interesting information and updates.

A lot of people are interested in blogging/writing for the money earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money from blogging/writing? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
My hope is that if I work hard enough,  I will sell more copies of my book.  Maybe I need a lucky break…Somehow a Tim Burton type, chances on my book, and decides to make into his next film.  I can but imagine.

What motivates you most in life?
To do things well, to be creative, to entertain people, make them think, to inspire others…many things…

What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
To post…post..post…and to search for as many opening as I can..

Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
I am more thankful to anybody who has given me an opportunity to do an author spotlight or do an interview…it is hard to name names…

What is the story behind the name of the blog?
It is the same as the name of my book…Flight of Destiny…

Five adjectives that describe you.
I would like to think…creative…witty…brave…unusual…humane…

What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
Any book by the writer Rupert Thompson has a powerful positive impact…

Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments??
I would like to think “no” but the reality is different, most people like or not are stung and hurt by criticism.

Do you plan to write a book, as every bloggers dream it is?
As I said before I am hoping to have a second book published…

Are you a judgmental person, do you prefer to take sides instead of standing neutral?
I am strongly opinionated, but being a teacher I often have to present both sides of an argument.

Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much into social networking, tell us everything about it?
At the moment I am really into social networking…expanding my contacts and I have already said spreading my name and my book as far as I can.

Words for me and my blogs Desire v/s Destiny and Blogger Interviews and my Website www.MyMagicJobs.com
God luck carry on the good work…

On winning the Award/s , Are they Really necessary.
Nice if you can get them…

So whats Next in your list?
As I said before a second book of short stories.

Words for your readers and why they should follow you?
My book is about, the freaks, outsiders, the downtrodden and oppressed of this world. Maybe people who were or who are still fans of “The Smiths”…people stuck in bedsits…in dingy surroundings…you might like this book.  People who wear black, who are “Goths” who like Edgar Alan Poe…you might like this…People who hate hunting…have issues with the establishment…abhor the British class system…this will be a book for you…I don’t consider myself a horror writer…but I certainly show the cruelty of mankind…and the depths they can sink to…There are also 22 illustrations that go with the stories…

Interview with Copywriter,Editor and Author Shuchi Kalra

Rahul : Today on Blogger Interviews we Present to you socially active Copywriter,Editor,Author and Supermom Shuchi , Her works speaks a lot about her talent and her future plans are amazing too , Lets try to know a bit about her and her work.
Buy her book Here   1. Can you tell us a little about yourself ,your blog(s)/website(s),and your aspirations and your hobbies!!
As a freelance writer, I have worked with several print and online publications, both in India and abroad. My bylines have appeared in Femina.in, Good Housekeeping, Home Review, Hotelier International, Investors India, Dogs and Pups and Womens Era, to name a few. I have also worked with corporate clients such as The Princeton Review and Skyscanner, apart from many medium and small businesses.  As a rare honor, a popular international blog recently put me on top of the list of “12 Highly Successful Non-Native English Freelance Writers”.
While I can call myself an experienced copywriter and editor, I am very new to fiction writing. Some of my short stories have found a place in anthologies such as ‘Love Across Borders’, ‘Stories for your Valentine’ and New Asian Writing’s upcoming collection. Done With Men is my first solo offering.

2. How you first got involved in with blogging/writing, are you an imaginative person?
Imaginative is all I am. My mind is always restless, constantly buzzing with thoughts. I mostly live in a parallel universe, completely zoned out from my reality.
Writing for me has been a need, more than a hobby or a profession. I just have to write, be it to vent, express, soothe my soul, talk to myself or organize my thoughts. It is much later that I started writing for others and took it up professionally. Somewhere in 2005, I got really sick of my job as an optometrist. I took up a few academic writing assignments on the side for the heck of it, thinking I’d make some extra money out of them. Fortunately, that worked out for me and I dumped that soul-sucking job and took to writing full time.

3. What do you find most challenging about blogging/writing about your topic?
The more challenging a project, the more fun I have working on it. However, I wish I could be more disciplined with my writing schedule. There have been days when I have written half a book and others when I have been totally unmotivated to do anything.

4. Tell me about some of the people you have met while working on your blog?
Lots of amazing people! Through the Indian Freelance Writers Blog, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with other established and aspiring writers, like-minded bloggers and people from the publishing industry. I’m happy to say that I’ve made many good friends along the way.

5. How would (someone) describe your blogging/writing style?
Most describe it as tongue-in-cheek and irreverent. I often hide behind humor to express my deepest, darkest thoughts.

6. What do you do when you are not working on your blog?
I am mom to a preschooler so time just flies. Else, you would find me travelling to less-explored places or fooling around in the kitchen. I love baking and I make my own wine.

7 .Where do you see yourself blogging/writing wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?
I don’t plan that ahead and prefer to take each day as it comes. I just see myself writing more and more because there’s no other thing that I’d rather do!

8. What networking do you do that you feel helps your blogging/writing business?
Networking is everything when it comes to finding work and building connections in the industry, especially for freelancers because most us work in isolation. I have found LinkedIn very useful in this regard. Not only can writers find credible job postings, there are also several groups where they can share and discuss issues related to the profession. I have recently become more active on Twitter as it is a great medium to interact with readers and promote your work. And it is a hell lot of fun :P.

9. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
Unfortunately, due to my other professional commitments, I am no longer able to update my blog as frequently as I’d like. Despite that www.indianfreelancewriters.com got featured among the Top 105 Blogs for Writers & Authors, which was quite unbelievable if you ask me! Right now, most of the recent posts on IFW are contributions from guest writers. They are the ones who are keeping my blog alive!

10. Whats your strategy with your blog in general?
I have no strategy at all. In fact, I never had one. I started IFW because at that time, there were very few resources for Indian writers available online. I just wanted to share my experiences and knowledge with aspiring writers, hoping it would benefit them in some way. It was never meant to be a commercial venture and it still isn’t.

11. Any specific tips you have for newbie bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?
There are no short cuts to getting noticed. Just keep up the quality of the content and the rest will automatically follow.

12. What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
Definitely content – nothing else will work if that is not in place.

13. Whats the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
Something to smile about. Something to think about. Something to draw inspiration from.

14. A lot of people are interested in blogging/writing for the money earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money from blogging/writing? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
You’re asking the wrong person! Like I said, my blog is not really a commercial venture. However, it makes a meager amount of money from Google Adsense, but that can’t qualify as “earnings”.

15. What motivates you most in life?
Just an urge to be a better version of myself with each passing day.

16. What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
Right from having my own website and being active on freelancer forums to guest posting on high profile blogs and using social media to share my work, creating visibility for myself and building a credible online presence has been a multi-dimensional process.

17 What was the most challenging moment in your blog content development process and why?
There have been many or different kinds, at different times. The most challenging thing, however, is to go out there and market your work. I don’t particularly enjoy it but I also know that no one else is going to do that for me.

18. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
My review of the Writers Bureau course is undoubtedly the most popular post on my blog and also the one that keeps up the traffic.

19. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
There are so many I read and follow. I love Vidya Suri’s blog(s), Mridu Khullar, Carol Tice, Sharon Hurley Hall (I’m sure I’m missing out on a lot of names here). Any blogger who can churn out fresh, original, informative and engaging content has my vote.

20. What is the story behind the name of the blog?
The name of my blog ‘Indian Freelance Writers’ is pretty straightforward and was purely chosen from a SEO perspective. Looking back, I think it was a good decision.

21. Your connection with any Blogger Network like Indi blogger or Writeupcafe or any other and the experience?
Nope, I still don’t know how to work those.

22. Which genre do you feel gets the raw deal?
Horror. It is seriously underrated.

23. Which one plug-in would you suggest all bloggers to have?
Social media share buttons? Sorry, I’m really awful at this.

24. Five adjectives that describe you.
Footloose. Reckless Rebel. Emotional as fuck. Impulsive. Outgoing Introvert.
In one word: Disaster!
Also, Judgmental :P

[ Rahul : Judgmental , This word has story related to twitter rants from me ;) ]

25. What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
I don’t think a book can ever make a “bad impact” on anyone. If anything, it can only make you question your beliefs or offer an alternate perspective, which is always an interesting experience.

26. Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments??
If they come from strangers, not at all. If they come from people I love and care about – then definitely. In fact, I can be an oversensitive wreck at times.

27. Do you plan to write a book, as every bloggers dream it is?
Two down, and several more to go. I hope!

28. Are you a judgmental person, do you prefer to take sides instead of standing neutral?
Again, if I am an outsider to a situation, I can look at it neutrally and offer a balanced perspective but if I’m emotionally invested, then it’s a downhill crazy ride. No logic. No reason.

29. Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much into social networking, tell us everything about it?
Yes, I am quite active on social media, mostly Twitter and to a slightly lesser degree, Facebook. I am lucky to have made many writer friends over the years and I think it is necessary too since they are the only ones who understand your challenges and motivate you to do better.

30. What genre attracts you the most and which genre you avoid?
I rarely judge a book by its genre. In fact, I read everything that I can get my hands on – right from Shakespeare to Murakami, to Sophie Kinsella and even self-published authors if I find their books interesting. I enjoy almost all styles and genres and my writing style is an amalgamation of all the reading I have done since I was a kid.

31. Your Views on Contests and increasing plagiarism?
I don’t know about contests because I haven’t taken part in any, but I see a lot of unoriginal content floating around. At Pixie Dust Writing Studio, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism and I take it very seriously. Any writer found indulging in it is immediately fired. No questions asked. No explanations given.

32. Words for me and my blogs Desire v/s Destiny and Blogger Interviews and my Website www.MyMagicJobs.com
You are doing awesome work. I wish you the best in all your ventures!

33. On winning the Award/s , Are they Really necessary.
Well, awards have nothing to do with your worth as a writer. There are thousands of brilliant writers who have never received an award. That said, they make for a good ego massage and I wouldn’t mind receiving one.

34. So whats Next in your list?
My next book, a rom-com involving a plus-sized protagonist, is scheduled for a late 2015 release. Watch out for it!

35.Words for your readers and why they should follow you?
If you’ve read my book, I love you – here’s a hug of gratitude. If you haven’t, you’re really missing out on some amazeballs stuff (just kidding). But seriously, read it. I’m on Twitter and Facebook for anyone who’d like to connect: @shuchikalra and on Facebook

Interview with Sapan Saxena Author of “Finders, Keepers”

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself ,your blog(s)/website(s),and your aspirations and your hobbies!!

My name is Sapan Saxena and I am a Software Engineer who graduated from MNNIT Allahabad in 2008. I took up to writing blogs on behest of my father, who felt I should share whatever I learn with others. I write blogs on Ancient Indian history and mythology, and some of them got published in leading news websites like Times of India and Hindustan Times. When some of my blog followers prompted me to write a book, I took up writing one and the product is now available for all to read.
My blog:http://credibleindian.blogspot.com
Book website:http://www.finderskeepers.in
My other hobbies include reading and dancing. I would like to share with others whatever I learn about Indology, be it through books or blogs

2. How you first got involved in with blogging/writing, are you an imaginative person?
In my art classes, I would always draw the best possible idea as the worst possible outcome. And a similar case for my handwriting. So, yeah, I think I am a creative and imaginative person. An idea initially stuck me and then I started building a story around it, and that’s how I started writing “Finders, Keepers”

3. What do you find most challenging about blogging/writing about your topic?
The biggest challenge I faced was that in the topic of Indology, there is a very thin line between an interesting revelation and becoming preachy. History is not what many people easily get interested in. People are interested in mythology, but then the moment it gets boring, people switch off your blog. So, the challenge comes in keeping it crisp when doing blogs.
When doing novels, the story has to be powerful; otherwise it will all fall apart for you

4. Tell me about some of the people you have met while working on your blog?
A lot of my research was online as well as offline. And as it mostly concerned Hindu mythology and ancient Indian history, I often visited online portal Hindu Dharma Forums. In there, you find guys who have spent years learning and practicing about various sects of Hinduism. It’s always a great learning experience to interact with them.
Offline I mostly visited heritage sites and mostly interacted with guides to squeeze out as much as I could. They pretty much speak some recorded stuff, but the information they gave was really helpful as they do incorporate local tales and stories related to some legend

5. How would (someone) describe your blogging/writing style?
People say my writing style is descriptive. Though they claim I am able to hold the attention of the reader till the very end. Though I aim to trust the intelligence of the reader, there are pieces which need detailed description.

6. What do you do when you are not working on your novel?
Well, I am a Software Engineer by profession, so when I am not busy creating a fictional world out of my imagination, I am usually creating a JAVA program to run on a virtual environment on my laptop

7 .Where do you see yourself blogging/writing wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?
After 3 years of blogging and months into publication of first novel “Finders, Keepers”, I can now safely assume that writing is an addiction. And even a single appreciation coming your way gives you a high no drug can emulate. So, in the next 6 months, I think I will be writing more blogs and working on future ideas for novel. 5 years down the road, I would want to explore more of Hinduism and Indian history touching subjects which others have either missed or dared not to ponder, as I think before writing such subjects, I would need to have more acceptances among readers.

8. What networking do you do that you feel helps your writing business?
I think that’s one area where I have had a huge unplanned investment, and that of course, has helped me a lot. I was a lot into social media even when I had not penned my first blog. This helped me discover friends from other cities and colleges and companies. Eventually as we shared and joined similar pages suggested mutually, the friend circle grew even further.  I also made it a point to keep in touch with wherever I worked. During last elections, I also joined a non-political group to spread awareness about benefits of voting. So, this online and offline networking has helped me maintain a huge plethora of friends from diverse backgrounds, locations, regions and interests. They help me in spreading my content, and that eventually helps a lot

9. How do you keep coming up with material/content for your blog? Many people struggle with coming up with different articles/posts and they only have one blog.
I think in my case Indology is a vast subject. We are one of the oldest civilizations and there is a lot to uncover, discover and analyze.
Let’s take an example, say Ramayana. How many articles have been written around Urmila(Lakshman’s wife), or Shatrughan? These are mighty interesting topics which most of the people want to read about.
So, I have rarely found it tough to search for a topic on which I would write my next blog, but yes, to generate interest and buzz around it, that’s always a challenge a writer has to accept and succeed eventually

10. Whats your strategy with your novel in general?
I would first think of an idea, that people may be interested in. I may even think of more than one idea, and combine them, or analyze them independently. Once I am confident about the idea, I start building a story around the same. The themes which I am comfortable in do not have much scope for romance or drama, and I consider myself good at building puzzles, suspense/thriller is the theme I choose for building the story. Only when I am convinced about the story, do I start penning it down

11. Any specific tips you have for newbie bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?
Of course! Anyone who is reading this and is planning to start a blog, please do it now! Keep it private, if you are not too comfortable with it, but do keep on penning your thoughts. Tomorrow you may have to search for these thoughts and there would be a place where you can always find it.
For newbie bloggers, I think networking is very important. There is a huge audience who is waiting for good content to be told and written about and if none of your friends form a subset of that audience, networking with other bloggers, visiting blogging sites, forums like Indiblogger, Facebook pages could be a good way to start. Eventually, you have to identify and reach out to that community, and mark your presence there with good content and networking

12. What would you prioritize? Content? SEO? Traffic? Readers?
I think that’s a very good question and thanks for asking the same. For me, the aim was to increase reader base/subscribers. So, of course, I needed to strike out a balance among all the parameters. I started out with prioritizing Traffic and SEO much more and focused solely on page views. Because, I knew if 1000 people would visit the blog, only 2 may stay back, and to build a base of 2000, I had to reach out to 1000000 different people. But, as eventually the dust settled down, and I had a regular audience, I started prioritizing the content and readers more and now don’t focus much on SEO tools and page views. The tools brought them here, but what made them stay is the content and the feedback of readers helps me build my content better

13. Whats the best thing a blogger can give to his readers?
A good quality post! I mean readers are the real motivation behind a blogger, right? Unless, of course, he wants to manage it as a private diary. So, definitely, the blogger shouldn’t compromise on the content and try not to please the readers. Your content was the reason they came in first place

14. A lot of people are interested in writing for the money earning potential. What are some tips for people interesting in making money from writing? What are some realistic expectations in regards to what can be made?
If you are trying to take up writing as a full time job, go ahead! You are trying to attempt one of the most respect jobs of all times. However, the core reality of Indian literary circle is that no matter how much Chetan Bhagat or Shobha De get offered for writing columns in national newspapers or the rights for their next novels, these are merely a handful of names. Writing industry is still not a huge money raker jobs for Indian authors. In fact, for a new writer, to get his first novel published, he may have to wait for as much as 2-3 years(and I am not exaggerating), or would have to turn towards self- publishing which involves a lot of extra baggage in the form of marketing, etc.
So, I would suggest, you keep writing and trying to earn no matter where you get the opportunity from. Be it some sports magazine, or local newspaper, or e-magazines, etc. You may also choose to write on subjects on which people may be highly interesting in, like stock market etc. which can help you earn through ads, but again, the content should be unique and original, the images unused.

15. What motivates you most in life?
My family is the biggest motivation in my life. My parents never did force me into any stream or any choice of career, and I made all the decisions myself. That kind of helped a lot. My wife is now the biggest motivation of my life. The amount of effort she puts in to help me create content, spread information about my blogs and novel through her network, and her continuous motivation when things don’t seem to work, is really splendid. My brother and brother-in-law have also helped a lot in getting a substantial audience for my book Finders, Keepers and that kind of always motivates me to keep moving.

16. What has been your strategy for creating visibility to yourself and your blog?
My social media network has by far been my biggest strength. But apart from the people, I make sure I make good use of all possible tools like Youtube, Quora, Pintrest, Reddit, StumbleIpon, Speaking Tree, Indiblogger, etc.
Not only these tools help me create and share content of varying conventions and attributes, they help me share some good original content as well. The content you create should be engaging enough and that’s one key feature to visibility

17 What was the most challenging moment in your novel content development process and why?
Well, by all measures, I have written “Finders, Keepers” on a pretty controversial topic, haven’t I? I mean writing on religion is like walking on a razor’s edge. A slip on either side and you would not even know which side did you offense.
I have tried to keep the tone of the novel positive throughout. However, as I said, no one knows which side this could end up offending

18. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
Ah Yes! My favorite one was “The Krishna Advantage” from my blog. Can you believe it, I have written some 30 odd posts, and 15% of all the views on my blogs have been on Krishna Advantage. In fact, this was published on Times of India website as well. I had tried to explain how Krishna would be a perfect manager in modern times.

19. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
Well, Nimi Vashi, certainly. The way she has revolutionized book promotion/review circle is amazing, and people now know where to find the good books. And of course you, Rahul! I mean here you are doing a fine act of promoting authors, managing and maintaining your blog, your wonderful site and are doing a great job of balancing! I definitely got to learn a trick or two from you.
My friend Dev Ashish is another such blogger who creates very unique and distinct content.
Among Indian writers, I look up to Amish Tripathi and Ashwin Sanghi a lot as they touched a subject when it was almost a no-go, and converted the theme into solid gold

20. What is the story behind the name of the novel?
Well, The title is basically an adage, “Finders, Keepers”. It means if anybody finds something, he can keep it. It’s also a famous game played by children. The story of my novel also kind of follows a similar path, where people are on lookout for hidden things. Further, “Keeper” is a term in my book.

21. Your connection with any Blogger Network like Indi blogger or Writeupcafe or any other and the experience?
Yeah, I am a regular with Indiblogger, though not much familiar with Writeupcafe.
I think Indiblogger is a great platform to bring bloggers together on a common portal. There are regular discussions and threads which help you improve your blog and streamline your thoughts. There are topics under which you can place your blog, which again helps you identify what content you may be interested in. The regular events and competitions also help people improve visibility among others. Overall, it’s been a great experience

22. Which genre do you feel gets the raw deal?
Poetic genres, in my humble opinion. I mean, I always find a diminishing market of good poetry, atleast in India. This is one of the toughest genres to write and never gets the due credit.

23. Which one plug-in would you suggest all bloggers to have?
Twitter, Google Plus and FB share plugins. These are handy and should be located at the right place. I mean a reader may not always copy the URL from his browser and then copy at FB or Google Plus and then care to limit it to 140 characters for Twitter. He may just close your blog and move ahead, and you may lose precious potential readers.
FB/Twitter/Google Plus plugins customize it for you. In fact, try to add all social media plugins available on your blog.

24. Five adjectives that describe you.
Well, humorous, resolute, persuaded, creative and hardworking

25. What book would you say has made the biggest impact good or bad on you?
Well, now that I have read most of the major Hindu scriptures to research for “Finders, Keepers”, Ram Charit Manas and Shiva Purana did make the biggest impact on me. Not only because they kind of form a subplot for my novel, but also because for the first time I looked into what was in the mind of the writer. If Ram Charit Manas was simply a re-telling of Ramayana, Tulsidas would have simply done it that way. Why are there differences between the two, what did Tulsidas want to tell us? Why does it start with the marriage of Shiva?

26. Do you get easily provoked by positive/negative comments??
Positive comments always get you high, and I see no wrong in it. Just that we should not lose our head and scream. Also, we should be ready to gracefully accept negative comments and work upon the weak areas. Initially I got affected by negative comments as well, but now I see them as suggestions people are trying to make to help me better my work and book.

27. Do you plan to write a book, as every bloggers dream it is?
I think this question doesn’t fit in here, as I have already written a book. I chose to start writing only when a lot of my readers asked me to do it

28. Are you a judgmental person, do you prefer to take sides instead of standing neutral?
It’s very tough to be always neutral. So, I do take sides instead of standing neutral, but that mostly depends on the situation and the topic. Like, I go out and vote for a party, so no point being neutral there. But, if someone is in a conflict of whether Greek mythology is as diverse as Hindu mythology, I prefer to stay neutral.

29. Your collaboration with other bloggers, are you much into social networking, tell us everything about it?
So, as I said earlier, there is a huge audience out there for every genre that wants to read your work. It’s just the matter of connecting with them and telling them your work has all the ingredients they were searching for. So, of course collaboration is important and networking is very important.
As far as books are concerned, the authors from your network will help you get your work promoted. I mean they are people with certain number of followers and fans. Their word for your book will always be counted as a huge plus and that’s the best way you can promote your book.
I have spent a lot of years in a good deal of social networking, and believe me, there are friends who I have never met or spoken to, but they have helped me out like anything to get my work published. I think that counts a lot.

30. What genre attracts you the most and which genre you avoid?
I am generally more inclined towards fictional writing than any other genre of writing. Among fictional works, I prefer suspense/ humor/satire over more “mainstream” genres like romance or love stories.

31. Your Views on Contests and increasing plagiarism?
I think contests are important. They help you increase visibility about the book. See, this is not the age and time when a writer writes something good and once a publisher picks it up, he sits back and relaxes that marketing and promotion is publisher’s job. No, you have to do a major part of the job, and contests, reviews are a major part of it.
Plagiarism in any form is harmful as it not only kills the hard-work done by someone; it also kills the spirit of creativity. I mean someone has put in a lot of effort to create some content, and you think you can have it for easy, that’s simply wrong. We should have stricter laws and rules as creative writing is one field where the lines of plagiarism blur down and it’s not easy to prove plagiarism. We should also have much stricter author- reader community which may help us identify such people and cases.

32. Words for me and my blogs Desire v/s Destiny and Blogger Interviews and my Website www.MyMagicJobs.com
As I said earlier as well, I think you are doing a great job with Desire v/s Destiny and MyMagicJobs.com.  You are doing a great act of promoting authors, managing and maintaining your blog, your wonderful site and are doing an awesome job of balancing all of it. The tips and tricks you put up on MyMagicJobs is really helpful to those who are struggling to find the right platform to know about these things, and of course to know about current job openings is really important. And you do so much for free! Hats off to you and your efforts, Rahul! And I have not yet mentioned your photography skills! You are really an all-rounder.

33. On winning the Award/s , Are they Really necessary.
Awards are good for your health, though they necessary are your life support. Which means, while its good to win awards, they are not everything. I mean, the jury consists of people only, and they may err. So, they are not a final word in any case.

34. So whats Next in your list?
Right now I am enjoying the great reviews my book “Finders, Keepers” is getting and how slowly but steadily its being liked by reader circle and fellow authors. I am also trying to work on the idea for my next book. If I am not convinced, I may not even start my next book. So, unless the idea is super strong in my own views, I will probably keep on working on the same. I would also like to continue blogging regularly as it gave me the reader base which is helping me now.

35.Words for your readers and why they should follow you?

My theme is not very widely chosen and my readers say I am able to hold their interest inspite of my descriptive style of writing, so there must be something good in the content that I create, and that should be a good reason for others to follow me as well.  You can visit my blog http://credibleindian.blogspot.in to know more about my work.

Nikita Singh Latest Work is Not Original ?

Interview with Ganga Bharani: @ganga_bharani : who says that Nikita Singh has got the Inspiration from an earlier work of hers which she read couple of years Back.

There are news about Nikita Singh latest work's Right Here Right Now Ideas being picked up from an earlier work by Ganga Bharani. We Spoke with Ganga Regarding the same and got to know certain Facts about the same as well. She did submitted the proofs and we are publishing the same.We are not publishing this Interview to malign or to publicise anyone , We are doing a plain interview and publishing the same unedited. The Views expressed below are solely by Ganga Bharani. We Can only say that we dont Support Plagiarism and are strictly against it.

1. Can you tell us a little about yourself ,your blog(s)/website(s), and your aspirations and your hobbies!!
I am a simple girl with complicated dreams. I have a book published but I still don't call myself a writer. It takes many books to realize for ourselves if we are the "Writer" that the word actually means; so I have a few more to go before I call myself one. I love to make short films and videos as a hobby. Two of my short films have won awards at WE CARE international film festival. I work as a software engineer and I love my job.
My dream to become a writer began with the hobby of writing articles to newspapers. When those articles were published in various newspapers like The Hindu, Deccan Chronicle and the like I gained a lot of confidence. I created a blog to archive the rejected articles. That's how it all started. Now, I am running towards my dream of becoming a chief guest at my (when I have one) kid's school function (To be worthy of it).
That's pretty much about me.

2. How you first got to know that your content had been copied or plagiarized.
I won't say copied or plagiarized because I am really confused with those words. According to my understanding reading something and then intentionally using it without giving credits is plagiarism; be it the plot or even as small as a character sketch. Plagiarism, according to me, is not just something that is related to words but something that's majorly related to the "INTENTION".

When this book was a manuscript, I had sent the first few chapters to Grapevine on 15th January, 2013, as a part of my proposal. On 4th March 2013 I received a reply from Nikita Singh, Editor Grapevine saying that the editors enjoyed reading my manuscript and they would like to take a look at the entire manuscript before making a final decision.
 My mail to Grapevine:

Nikita's reply:

While I was still waiting for their reply, I met with another publisher, Tales4 Publication, and they were ready to publish the book in a traditional way, without getting a single rupee from me. So I thought it would be right to check with Grapevine and keep them informed about the other publisher. I mailed them asking for an update. In reply to that, I got a rejection mail from a different editor, below is the screenshot of the rejection mail. I am a sport and it's okay to get rejected.

In December 2013, I got my book, Just you, me and a secret published with Tales4 Publications.

28th April 2014: I saw a poster that Nikita published on her Facebook page promoting her book. Below is the poster I am referring to. The synopsis of the book was a lot similar to my book. I got a little doubtful and sent a mail both to you and Grapevine to receive nothing in response. The mail was sent with the subject, 'Doubt of plagiarism' and yet both the publishers ignored my mails. I did not mention such a doubt anywhere in social media respecting the publisher and writer. I didn't want to jump to conclusions before I checked it.

I, calmly, waited till the book titled 'Right here, right now' got published. A lot of blogger friends told me how so much similar the two stories are. I read the book myself and was shocked. The plot, the narrator chosen to narrate, the theme and mood of the story and most importantly first chapter, including the tiny details in it were just like my book.

For instance, in my book I have spoken about the beeping sound, ECG to the "right".  The same details are in the epilogue and the beginning of the first chapter of the other book. I have also attached a screenshot of a reviewer's comment about both the books.

First chapter of my book, Just you me and a secret:

First chapter of Nikita's Right here, Right now:

I need to mention Sachin Garg the owner of Grapevine replied to another mail  had sent saying that Nikita is not with them anymore. It was also mentioned that Right here, Right now was published under Penguin's banner and they can't do much about it.

The point I am trying to make is that she has read my manuscript, which is clear from the mail she has sent. After a few days she publishes a book with a very similar plot. How often do two people, who write a story with an amnesiac protagonist, start with the same hospital scene. Okay, let's say this is common. But how often do they write about just the same details in almost the same style? Considering that she has read my manuscript already, how far can we consider this coincidental?

We budding writers actually research the market to understand what sells and what doesn't. We spend years in coming up with a plot that's not much touched upon by the Indian market. We take years in finding a publisher. If it was rejected I won't flare up and falsely blame. I am a sport I can assure you that. But when we send to the publisher and the writer, who is also the editor there, sends a mail asking for full manuscript, then the next book she writes is of the same concept are we not supposed to question? If it was the same concept I won't call it a act to be questioned. The first chapter clearly reveals the intention. I am against that intention.
Also the publishers (Both penguin and mainly grapevine) did not take this seriously when I had mailed. They might say that they receive 100 such mails about being plagiarised. But I am sure they get 10 times more number of manuscripts a day. It's their duty to protect those 1000 writer's who send their manuscripts with trust by replying to the 100 mails about plagiarism.
With what trust will we send the manuscripts to them? I might not be a famous writer, maybe I won't even turn into one, let's say. What if a highly potential person sends a concept that's not like anything in the Indian market in the recent times and what if that ends up like this?
Also, what if Nikita's book had the same story as mine? The publishers did not even check it when I had mailed. If they had now they would have confidently said it is not plagiarism. If that was the case her book would have got published and even if I file a case I won't be able to publish my work. (Thank God! It was already published.)

My question here is, if I am an editor of a reputed publishing house I get to read manuscripts of budding writers every day. Am I allowed to pick the concept I like the most, reject it and then write a book with the same plot but a story of my style? Will this not question the way we need to feel protected in sending manuscripts to publishers?

Another question I have is, if a not-so-famous writer has a concern of plagiarism which involves a famous writer, will it not be taken seriously by the publishers? My mail was not replied to.

If this is the case, editors are free to reject good concepts and make use of it quickly in their book. They will obviously get it published before the struggling writer approaches another publisher, in my case it was luckily quick. So, this will make the editor have an edge over the writer to get appreciated for the concept. The pain for the other writer doesn't stop there, when she/he publishes the original work, people will say it's similar to the famous author's book. How are we, writers, protected today?

I am not saying the entire story of Right here, right now was lifted from my book. All I am saying is I am against the intention.

3. What did you do about it?
After receiving no response from the publishers, I posted it on facebook but did not get an support at that time. I thought I won't be able to fight against big names and people won't actually try to understand what I am trying to say, so left it there.
On 11th February, I was tagged in twitter to promote her book, the same one I am complaining about and I got really annoyed. I felt humiliated. But keeping quiet about this was even more humiliating. I thought I should voice about it with all the proofs on social media though I assumed no one will relate to what I am talking about; THE INTENTION though the stories are different. To my surprise, people understood it very well, a lot of them supported me including your site which came forward to give me a chance to voice it here.
Penguin then tweeted asking me for all the proofs and the details to be mailed. I have mailed it to them. I hope they will do justice being such a reputed publisher.
4. What is the proof of the accusation ?
I have attached all the proofs in my previous replies. The first chapter being very similar and the plot being same, considering her reply confirming that she has read my manuscript and the timing of the book being published a  few months right after the reply from her makes it more intentional than coincidental.
5. Did you try contacting Nikita Singh Directly over email or twitter or facebook.?
I thought it was not professional to directly mail her asking if she had done. So I just mailed the publishers and waited enough assuming someone would take action for me until I understood that if someone would talk for me it would be ME. I tweeted two days back asking where she got the concept from and if she remembers reading my manuscript. That's where everything started. She is yet to respond.
6. Why don't you plan to send a legal notice , that must not be a problem ?
Penguin has replied to my mail, NOW, saying that they will look into this and get back. I will wait to know what they decide before I decide what I need to do.
7. Did you try contacting other publishing agencies and sellers like flipkart etc ?
No. I don't think contacting Flipkart will solve the issue. Also, when people involved don't take it seriously, like Grapevine and Penguin, how will others take it seriously.

9. What do you want if they agree that the accusation is actually correct ?
Right now I got what I wanted. As I have already said in social media they should not easily do this and take struggling writers for granted. I wanted them to understand that we struggling writers won't let it go easily without being a pain by voicing it, out of fear. I think I have made that very clear to them.
10. Do you feel demotivated that its been done to you or are you motivated enough
to fight for justice ?
I am not demotivated as my book got published before hers and mine has a different story. Also the reviews I have got so far are very encouraging an positive.
I feel stronger after the kind of response I got from people in social media. I was happy that people understood what I pointed out as a mistake from their side; THE INTENTION.

11. What do you have to say if some one calls it fake publicity?
If all I wanted was publicity I would have planned and executed this a long time ago. I never had this in mind. Opening up was not planned. It was a sudden outburst seeing someone tagging me to promote that book. Also, if you still think it's all for publicity all I can say is everything stated above are facts and I don't fear being called names for raising my voice for my right and fellow writers' rights.

UPDATE:
Similarities between Right here, right now and my book, Just you, me and a secret:
1. Clearly first chapters are very similar.
2. In the second chapter of my book I have written a scene with the laptop. It can be read here http://scribbledbygb.blogspot.co.uk/…/just-you-me-and-secre… A scene in Right here Right now is very similar to this scene.
My argument here is, it's about a 17 year old girl. So when she was a kid, it would have been a year in 90s when Digital cameras were not there. So it is natural for anyone to say that the amnesiac was showed a physical photograph. Why a laptop? I had written laptop because that scene occurred so to me and also it was about the recent photographs. In her defense, she can say it was all digitized form of physical photographs. But why a laptop? It could have been a tablet or a phone. The only conclusion I can come to, with this point also, is that it's taken from my manuscript.
3. Her book starts from 2nd April 2013. I would like to point out that the first five chapters of my manuscript was sent to Grapevine in January, 2013. I received a reply from Nikita asking for full manuscript on 4th, March, 2013. I sent the manuscript immediately as I had it ready. As writers we tend to make use of the date we start the book, we don't write a date too much in future. So, my point is that she has started writing her book after she received my full manuscript. This makes the intention clear to me.

And these are just a few examples only....

PS :Plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work/Idea and lying about it afterward.
